After a few hours of pitches, and deliberations by the judges, the winner of the first Coors Legacy Lift competition has been announced - Marley Alles, Founder of rax.  The Coors Original Legacy Lift is a new initiative by the brand to inspire more entrepreneurship within Canada.

Coors Original Celebrates Its Legacy And Lifts Up Canadian Entrepreneurs - Cheque presentation

Contestants from across Canada were first encouraged to submit a 150-second video about their business and how they plan to build a lasting legacy. Five finalist were invited to pitch their business idea in front of a panel of judges in an elevator for a chance to win a $40,000 grant from Molson Coors.

  • “Our Coors Original team had the privilege of hosting five emerging entrepreneurs from across the country in Toronto in early September and seeing first-hand the grit, determination, and passion that they put into turning their passion projects into reality - just like the Coors family did 150 years ago. We were honored to award the $40,000 Legacy Lift grant to Marley Alles of rax after learning more about how she took an inspiring career leap to build a lasting, sustainable business that would create a positive impact for the people of Canada, innovate an industry or way of thinking, and leave a lasting legacy, and we are excited to follow her journey to see how the grant and mentorship with David Coors will support the growth of her business for years to come.“ - Leslie Malcolm, Senior Director of Marketing for Molson Global Brands

  • "The Coors Legacy Lift pitch competition serves as a reminder that just like Coors’ legacy, with a lot of grit, determination, and hard work, startups have the potential to build their own enduring legacies often starting from humble beginnings. As a startup, access to capital is one of the hardest things to obtain and lack of funding is one of the main ways startups fail. Winning this grant from Coors Original enables rax to reach new heights that wouldn't have been possible before. It will help power rax's app development and marketing for our version 2 app launching this winter, and bring us one step closer to creating our own legacy, just as Coors did in the brewing industry." - Marley Alles, Founder of rax and winner of the Coors Original Legacy Lift competition
