When launching a CPG collaboration in a crowded market, the traditional PR playbook often relies heavily on basic sample mailers and standard press releases. To launch the new Huer x Frank’s RedHot Spicy Gummy Bears, Vancouver-based Citizen Relations and B.C. confectioner Huer Foods threw out the conventional template.

Turning Up The Heat: Inside Huer Foods' $4,000 Jewellery Campaign

Rather than just talking about satisfying a "sweet tooth," the campaign took the idea literally by reimagining it as a Spice Tooth #SpiceToothStatus.

Campaign execution:

  • High-End Wearable Art: Partnered with celebrity jewellers Canadian Diamond Boyz (jewelry makers for Machine Gun Kelly and Xzibit) to design a hyper-limited, over-the-top $4,000 CAD custom Spice Tooth jewellery made from 10k Rose Gold and encrusted with individually hand-set natural rubies to symbolise the "swicy" heat.
  • Cultural Hero & National Amplification: Debuted the piece on JUNO-nominated, platinum-selling Canadian DJ Felix Cartal. The campaign leveraged paid national amplification via Daily Hive and BlogTO social and editorial integrations.
  • Street Interview Content Engine: Partnered with street interview host Daniella Atkinson (@daniella_atk) to capture candid video content asking Canadians for their "spiciest dating takes" on camera, feeding a continuous social content pipeline.
  • Subculture Seeding & Contesting: Targeted creator communities with customised unboxing kits and high-urgency social contesting cross-promoted by Canadian Diamond Boyz, Felix Cartal and Kiersay.

The campaign leveraged earned media relations, paid partnerships, influencer activations, and street-level content to turn a product launch into a cultural moment.
