Children BelieveChildren Believe mission is to promote equal access to education, especially for girls, by removing any barriers.  The Canadian charity has rolled out its latest campaign called “Believe in Girls Like Me” campaign. This campaign highlights the transformative potential of educating girls on a global scale and how it can address major global issues such as climate change, economic instability and human trafficking. Leveraging public relations and advertising, the campaign uses a one-minute Hero ad spot and features a mix of owned, organic and paid print and digital media channels.

“‘Believe in Girls Like Me’ presents a way to invest in tangible, sustainable solutions to problems we all face,” says Don Mitchell, Chief Financial Officer and interim Chief Marketing Officer, Children Believe. “It’s easy to think that Canadians are far removed from the effects of international giving, but as we’ve uncovered, educating girls has a global ripple effect. Our trusted and long-time partners, Strategic Objectives and New Honor Society have thoughtfully curated a program to spark hope and inspire Canadians to give generously. By donating just $10 per month to the Believe in Girls Like Me Education Fund, Canadians can change communities around the world and create a better future for all.”

Children Believe’s proprietary research reveals that hope has deteriorated drastically in Canada over the past three years, driven by a sense of crises: from the global health pandemic to climate change disasters. The ‘Believe In Girls Like Me’ campaign seeks to rekindle hope among Canadians, by inspiring belief in the positive future created by investing in girls’ education.

Educating girls positively influences various global issues, including:

  • Climate change
    • Educating girls worldwide can have a greater impact on the climate crisis than adopting electric cars
  • The global economy
    • If every girl worldwide received 12 years of quality education, their combined lifetime earnings could double to $30 trillion globally
  • Child marriage
    • If girls complete high school, they’re three times less likely to marry before the age of 18 than those with no education
  • Child mortality rates
    • Children of literate mothers are 50 percent more likely to survive past age five than children of uneducated mothers
  • Human trafficking
    • Educated girls are more likely to avoid human trafficking and poverty
