Shaw Extends Communications Platform With Acquisition Of WIND Mobile

ShawLate last night Shaw Communications announced that it would acquire WIND Mobile for approximately $1.6 billion. WIND Mobile is the fourth largest wireless carrier in Canada with 940,000 subscribers across Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

Shaw To Acquire WIND Mobile For $1.5 Billion

The deal is not expected to close until third quarter 2016, but once complete it will give Shaw a major bump in the number of customers the national brand can communicate with.  The deal will give Shaw close to 1 million additional customers as they compete against Bell, Rogers and TELUS with offerings including wireless, television, home phone and internet.
