Paul WelshWe have been tipped to some more bad news for NATIONAL Public Relations [TCO].  Paul Welsh is no longer in his role as Managing Director at NATIONAL Public Relations [TCO] in their Vancouver office. Paul was appointed to the role in October 2017.  We have written about Paul in the past, he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at Edelman Canada [TCO] in January 2013; we also wrote about him in June of the same year.

This makes the second person in a Managing Director role to leave the agency this year, back in February Bob Pickard exited his role as Managing Director in Toronto after just 6 months.  This is not the first time that NATIONAL has had a string of problems with people in senior people leaving the agency as we have documented here, here and here.  Unfortunately the agency also made several newspaper headlines with its involvement with the WE Charity.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Running an agency is not an easy thing, but there are some certain actions that even a junior person working in the public relations industry would not do.  Do actions like these help or hurt an agency and its relationship with media? With clients?  I

In a world where agencies create trust barometers and other reports talking about what brands can do to earn consumer trust, should they not also be held to a higher standard of conduct?
