Narrative Advocacy Media, the newest division of advertising agency Bensimon Byrne took home Best in PR 2010 at the Canadian Marketing Awards for its integrated public relations campaign for WIND Mobile’s “The Power of Conversation”.
“As a smaller shop, we know a thing or two about being the underdog and needing to stand out,” said Lindsay Mattick Davidson, Director of Public Relations at Narrative Advocacy Media. “That is exactly what makes us especially honoured to receive this prestigious award. It shows us that the work we are doing is breaking through and getting our clients and ourselves noticed. Not bad for an agency that didn’t even exist four years ago!”
In addition to Best in PR, Narrative won Gold in PR-Consumer Services for WIND’s Power of Conversation Campaign and Bronze PR-Consumer Services for WIND Mobile’s PR Launch. In partnership with agencies Clean Sheet Communications and Trapeze, Narrative was awarded Silver for Integrated-Consumer Services and Gold for Digital-Consumer Services. Narrative also won Bronze in PR-Automotive for the launch of Hyundai Auto Canada’s Clean Air Commitment.
The launch of WIND Mobile and the ensuing campaign were built on the “Power of Conversation” inspired by Narrative’s groundbreaking Wireless Soapbox campaign, an online forum that asked Canadians what they wanted from their wireless experience. As one several new entrants to a cluttered and highly competitive wireless marketplace, WIND needed to break through with a unique and compelling campaign that reached out directly to the consumer. ‘The Power of Conversation’ did just that by creating the opportunity for Canadians to help build the brand, the values, and the offering of Canada’s first new wireless company in over a decade.
