Edelman Canada has appointed Scott Thomson as Co-Deputy General Manager, Toronto and National Practice Leader, Corporate & Public Affairs, as well as Brian Rosevear as Vice President, Consumer Marketing.
Scott comes to Edelman’s Toronto from their office in London. As a member of the London management team, he helped triple revenues and expand the Corporate practice from 15 to 60 team members since 2002. A corporate reputation expert, Scott’s experience encompasses a wide range of communications disciplines, including reputation development, corporate positioning, executive profiling, and stakeholder and employee engagement.
Additionally, he led the UK crisis team and coordinated Edelman’s European crisis network, counseling clients on product recalls, labour union disputes, health and safety incidents and many other adverse corporate events. Also, he gained extensive experience in sustainability planning and communications strategies for clients like Shell. Born in Australia, Scott was PR Manager for Cisco Systems in Australia and New Zealand before relocating to London in 2001.
Previously, Brian worked as Vice President of Harbinger Communications, where he played a vital role on the agency’s leadership team, overseeing key clients, actively managing and mentoring employees, developing best practices for ideation sessions, and shaping overall strategy. He led world-class clients like Unilever, working with brands including Hellmann’s and AXE.
Brian was also instrumental in the development of the Guinness Party of Canada campaign and served as PR Chair for Fashion Cares 2008, where he worked with the AIDS Committee of Toronto and a team of dedicated volunteers to raise awareness around HIV and AIDS. Brian began his career with Strategic Objectives. Previously, he owned Metonym PR.
