The enchantment of Lite-Brite will always endure, regardless of age, and those who engage with one can't resist being uplifted as the vibrant lights illuminate our day.
Now the Illuminarium at the Distillery District's presents an immersive experience, Lite-Brite: Worlds of Wonder.
This summer blockbuster offers Torontonians the opportunity to explore three cinematic realms and twelve playable games to rediscover a feeling of childlike wonder.
The impressive sight is reshaping 13,500 sq ft at 28 Gristmill Lane, formerly the Fermenting Cellar event space. The Victorian industrial design and lively arts scene of the Distillery District render it a perfect spot for the nostalgia-infused escapade.
Visitors can step into a larger room with walls lined with large, segmented panels. Each panel serves as a dynamic screen hosting vivid, pixelated animations. Behind the scenes, speakers are embedded within the walls and ceiling, with a duo of computers behind each panel. One computer drives interactive elements that respond to guest movements, while the other manages the continuous flow of video content.
Earlier in the month a Media Preview was held to get a behind the scenes look at the newest immersive the Distillery District in August 2023, and has hosted several themes since then. Attendees had an opportunity to check out the rooms, network and enjoy an assortment of drinks and pizza.
There was also an opportunity for guests to show off their creativity and enter a competition to design the best visual Lite-Brite display.
