How rock-it promotions Became One Of Canada’s Top Growing Companies

October 9, 2019

With a few more months left in 2019, it has been a year of consistent growth for Toronto-based rock-it promotions [TCO] with several client wins; client campaign executions; and expansion to their talent rosterrock-it promotions was recently selected by The Globe and Mail as part of Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies, they were one of the few public relations agencies to make the list.

Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski, Founder and President of rock-it promotions, inc; added “The ambition of rock-it has always been to demonstrate insight, innovation and smart management for our clients and our own business. We’re humbled to be included alongside such a distinguished group and motivated to continue to build and grow further.”

We caught up with Debra to learn a bit more on how this (soon to be) 20 year old agency continues to grow:

Debra Goldblatt-SadowskiWe heard the news, congrats on being recognized as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. What’s the first thing you did when you told about the recognition?

Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski  – The first thing I did was thank my fabulous team. I couldn’t have done this without them and their amazing dedication! They make the magic happen each and every day. In addition to the recognition from The Globe and Mail, we were also recognized by Growth 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies, and we were the only PR agency to be on the list for the last four years in a row. rock-it is also shortlisted for Strategy’s PR Agency of the Year Award amongst some of the biggest agencies in the country which is so thrilling for us. We celebrate 20 years of business in 2020 and it feels like a wonderful way to enter this milestone year.

What did you and the team do this year to get this recognition?

We did what we do every year – partner with incredible brands. We work tirelessly to celebrate their successes and get the word out about their product innovations and brand announcements. And we truly love what we do! Some event and partnership highlights from this past year include: L’Oréal Paris Canada: In Conversation with Jane Fonda, The JUNOS, Toronto Fashion Week (x2!), Chotto Matte’s Canadian debut, and the launch of UNINTERRUPTED in partnership with LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Drake.

PR In Canada had been covering your agency for years, and it’s been consistently growing. What do you attribute to the growth?

We pride ourselves on our creative and strategic approach – as well as our hustle. We just don’t stop until we get it done. Our ability to have successfully continued on this growth trajectory is in part to our trusting roster of clients and the unrelenting efforts of our talented and motivated team.

So what’s next on the list for rock-it promotions?
We are always examining and analyzing how to run the business in the best possible way for our clients, our team and how we communicate with the media. Senior management has also grown for us in the last couple of years and I am so thrilled with being able to take a step back from day-to-day operations and focus on the overall strategy, health and growth of the business. It’s every business owner’s dream to build a team that you not only trust, but have seen them deliver quality, measurable work. We are also currently aiming to expand our client roster, especially in the beauty, entertainment and travel spaces.

Why did you choose the name rock-it promotions?

When I started the agency, I was primarily handling personal publicity clients and quite a few music clients. My sister suggested ‘rock-it’ and I loved the playfulness. I love it when clients say ‘You guys really do rock!!’. That never gets old.
