We had been hearing reports of solid growth over the last few months, but now it looks like there is some solid proof as the firm expands its talent roster with four new additions.
Susan Kushneryk has joined Hansell LLP as Partner and Hansell McLaughlin Advisory as Government Relations Advisor. She brings a wealth of experience in law, government, and regulatory matters. previously Susan was most Director of Policy in the Office of the Attorney General of Ontario, where she provided advice and leadership across government ministries on a range of legal and policy matters. Prior to joining the Attorney General, Ms. Kushneryk served as Senior Enforcement Counsel at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), Enforcement Counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and as a litigator with two national law firms.
Milton Chan has joined the firm as Senior Consultant. He has extensive public policy and regulatory experience, having most recently been the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation with the Government of Ontario. Prior to that role, he was Director of Strategy and Operations in the Office of the Premier of Ontario and served for several years as Enforcement Counsel at IIROC.
Veronica Clayton joined Hansell LLP as a Consultant. She is a seasoned law clerk and manager, with more than 25 years of experience with the majority of her career at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. She has expertise in the effective organization, management and utilization of corporate services departments and corporate software solutions.
Harlan Tufford joins as a Governance Research Analyst in Hansell Board Evaluations, which provides nexpert, independent guidance to boards in identifying opportunities to enhance their effectiveness. Mr. Tufford has in-depth analytical and capital markets experience combined with a thorough knowledge of Canadian boards and corporate governance best practices. Mr. Tufford was most recently an Associate with Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) where he conducted original research, contributed tomnational policy guidelines, and provided clients with informed voting recommendations at Canadian shareholders’ meetings. Prior to ISS, Mr. Tufford was a Research Analyst at the Clarkson Centre at the Rotman School of Management where he assessed governance and compensation practices among S&P/TSX Composite Index companies.
