ICE District and Stantec recently hosted two events to celebrate the beginning of ICE District’s newest skyscraper – Stantec Tower. Once completed, the Stantec Tower will become the tallest building in Edmonton and tallest in Canada outside of Toronto. The iconic 66-storey building will be the new headquarters for Stantec. The events were created and executed by Brookline Public Relations with the goal of generating positive media awareness about the current revitalization in downtown Edmonton. This milestone comes in tandem with various other developments in ICE District that will drive growth in the city and foster a stronger sense of community.
The events consisted of a press conference and a VIP luncheon reception that engaged the media and created excitement for future tenants of Stantec Tower. The press conference was held at Stantec Tower’s live construction site and featured a concrete hand ceremony to celebrate the tower’s Superstructure. Brookline coordinated media interviews with WAM Development President Darren Durstling; City of Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson; Stantec Senior Vice President Keith Shillington; and Oilers Entertainment Group CEO Bob Nicholson and facilitated a unique photo opportunity that showcased the pouring of the last below-grade concrete. The VIP luncheon reception took place at the nearly-completed Edmonton Tower, which provided scenic views of the city and allowed guests to witness the ongoing construction of Stantec Tower. It also gave Stantec employees and future tenants the opportunity to see their future home. Brookline planned and executed the events for ICE District and also led media relations. The city’s top media attended the press conference which resulted in widespread reach and extensive coverage. Brookline successfully secured various print, online, and broadcast publications, including CBC News, Edmonton Journal, Edmonton Sun, CTV News, 630 CHED, Metro Edmonton, and Global News.
