Environics Communications has hired Chris McCluskey to its Government Relations practice as Senior Consultant in Ottawa. Chris brings more than ten years of communications expertise – including government communications and journalism – enhancing the team’s robust government relations efforts and further contributing to the integrated offerings of the agency.

Prior to joining Environics, Chris spent the last few years with the Government of Canada as Director of Communications to federal Ministers responsible for national security, defence procurement, energy and mining. He also served as (Acting) Chief of Staff to the Minister responsible for defence procurement.
Most recently, Chris led communications on behalf of Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, developing strategic plans for ministerial communications, and advocating for Canadian energy and jobs at home and internationally. Prior to that, while working for the Minister responsible for defence procurement, he was given the responsibility for the planning and promotion of announcements on new equipment and capabilities for the Canadian Armed Forces.
