Should PR Agencies Announce Client Wins?

November 24, 2015

One question that is asked of PR In Canada quite often is, “Should PR agencies announce their own client wins?”

Let’s first look at the definition of Public Relations, according to Wikipedia it is…. “Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the spread of information between an individual or an organization (such as a business, government agency, or a nonprofit organization) and the public

Next, we all know what an agency is, at a very basic level they are in business to provide a service to clients, and in an ideal situation they have more than one client.

HMMFinally, let’s talk about Google,  Google dominates the Internet as the biggest authority when it comes to searching for information.  Try it – enter your agency name and account win.  Does anything come up?  Now imagine a client or prospective client gathering information as to whether to do business with your agency or not.  In the absence of finding a positive response, they might assume your agency is NOT growing and decide not to do business with you. You could also be a bit more specific and search the media outlet that covers the Canadian public relations industry, so go to Google and enter “PR In Canada + (agency name)” if nothing comes up then again perhaps that agency is NOT growing.  Or they are doing a bad job at PR, which of course just makes you wonder…. hmmmmm

Your organization needs the best talent, let PR In Canada help you!
