McDonald’s Experiments With Out ‘Create Your Taste’ Menu

October 15, 2015

McDonald'sToday, McDonald’s Canada brought something new to residents of Metro Vancouver as they will have the chance to bite into a new way to enjoy their products, as the market becomes the first region in British Columbia to roll out McDonald’s Canada’s new modernized guest experience that includes placing the burger customization process in guests’ hands.

Three Metro Vancouver cities – Burnaby, Langley and Surrey – will feature self-order kiosks that enable guests to order from the new customizable ‘Create Your Taste‘ burger menu. They can build their own premium burgers from scratch, choosing from nearly 30 options, including five types of cheese, 12 toppings, two buns, a lettuce wrap and nine sauces. Guests will also be treated to table delivery, allowing them to sit down and enjoy their drinks while they wait for their customized burger creation to be made fresh off the grill and brought to their table.

“We’re thrilled that Metro Vancouver was selected to be among the first markets in Canada to bring the restaurant of the future directly to our guests,” said Shelly Hansen, Regional Vice President, Western Canada. “We’re excited to be showcasing our brand transformation, unveiling new, unexpected guest experiences and our Create Your Taste menu in three Greater Vancouver restaurants.”

The modernized restaurant and guest experience is expected to create at least 45 new positions across the three Vancouver-area restaurants, with an estimated 10 to 15 additional jobs per restaurant. The company will also be investing an incremental $200,000 per restaurant as part of its accelerated growth plan leading up to its 50th anniversary in 2017.
