Coca-Cola Says #ComeTogether To Support Winning Blue Jays

October 5, 2015

Blue Jays PlayoffsTorontonians have some serious baseball fever right now as the Toronto Blue Jays continue their record breaking year.  Long time partner Coca-Cola (since 1977) is showing their support to the Canadian team with the launch of their “#ComeTogether” campaign, a new spot celebrating the hard work and incredible success of Canada’s baseball team.

“Nothing unites Canadians more than their passion and pride for their sports teams and Coca-Cola is always there to be part of these great times,” says Michael Samoszewski, Vice-President, Sparkling Business Unit, Coca-Cola Ltd. “As a proud partner of the Toronto Blue Jays since 1977, we couldn’t be happier or more excited to celebrate their amazing efforts and this special moment in Canadian sports history.”

The original customized “Always Coca-Cola” spot quickly became a fan favourite in 1993, with several versions being made to celebrate the Toronto Blue Jays and their World Series win. This new version was created with a nod to the past in a similar style, with brightly-coloured animated graphics and logos and the recognizable catchy tune with updated lyrics.

“We wanted to create something fresh and new but not lose the nostalgic feel for those who remember and love the original,” continued Samoszewski. “Thanks to the fans, the 1993 spot became an unofficial anthem for the Toronto Blue Jays and we hope we can once again create a little magic and cheer our team through to another title!”

The 60-second spot is airing four times during the broadcast of the Toronto Blue Jays’ last regular season game on Sunday, October 4 and aired on radio and various social channels.
