Here Are The Judges For PR In Canada’s 2015 Top 30 Under 30

Earlier this week we opened the door for nominations for PR In Canada’s 2015 Top 30 Under 30, and here are the judges that will help us to determine the industry’s brightest and future leaders working in the public relations industry.

Suelan Toye

Suelan_ToyeSuelan is a Media Relations Officer at Ryerson University. Suelan Toye is a veteran public relations professional with 15 years of strategic communications experience in the university sector, specializing in media relations, issues management, writing and social media engagement. Whether crafting a customized media pitch or matte story to developing a comprehensive communications plan with input from various stakeholders, Suelan works with clients to elevate their profiles through positive media coverage locally, nationally and internationally. Suelan has been on judging panels for various university communications competitions in both Canada and the United States. She has been awarded gold and silver for the best media release by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education, as well as silver for the best media communications plan by the U.S-based Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Dave Forde

DaveFordeDave “The Connector” Forde has been involved in the technology industry across Canada for over 10 years in various sales and marketing roles, he launched Profectio (which covers the Canadian Advertising and Marketing industry) and PR In Canada (which covers the communications and public relations industry). Lise Huneault

Lise is Vice President and General Manager, Montreal at Kaiser Lachance Communications. Lise HuneaultA PR Marketing professional boasting 25 years of experience, Lise is renowned for her creative, strategic and results-minded personality. She launched her career in 1985 and worked for several flagship cultural organizations, such as Cirque du Soleil, Tour de l’île de Montréal, Mosaicultures Internationales de Montréal. In 1992, she moved on to agency work, including international public relations firms (FH, NATIONAL, MS&L) until 2008, where she held in successive roles as Vice-President, Senior Vice-President and Montreal Office Manager. Her strong expertise in media relations, marketing communications and partnership development benefited clients in a wide array of sectors such as healthcare, consumer products, lifestyle & luxery goods, food-nutrition, retail, special events. In 2008, Lise then joined the Novartis Canada team as External Communications Manager, providing strategic consulting services to brand managers. She was put in charge of a portfolio featuring over fifteen products and oversaw Canada-wide campaigns. In the spring of 2012, Lise seized the unique opportunity to promote the world’s biggest mosaiculture competition, Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal 2013. As Director of Communications and Marketing, Lise contributed to this event’s phenomenal success, which boasted a record attendance of over 1 million visitors over a 100-day period. She has also been involved in several community organizations focused on education and social integration, including Unicef Canada (2005-2010), where she was a Board member and the Concours national de lecture, under Honorary President Mr. Jacques Demers. Lise currently sits on the marketing committee of Junior Achievement Canada. Lise holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree and a certificate in public relations from Université Laval in Quebec City. She also completed additional training in business startups by the Centre de développement régional de Montréal.


Kathryn Tector

Kathryn TectorKathryn Tector is Vice-President of Digital Communications at NATIONAL Public Relations. With a strong background in digital communication and close to 20 years of industry experience, Kathryn delivers comprehensive strategies for clients and has a talent for working with multi-disciplined teams of communication experts and developers, facilitating and managing user research, strategic planning, content planning, usability testing, persona development, analytics, envisioning and website development. A new member to the NATIONAL team, Kathryn brings her knowledge and experience in developing the right user experience. She has worked with brands such as Tourism New Brunswick, Yukon Tourism, Skinfix Inc, Cadillac Fairview, Canadian Tire, and Loblaws in developing the right digital program to meet and convert their audiences. Kathryn has a Bachelor of Commerce from Mount Allison University, as well as an MSc in Public Relations from Stirling University, Scotland.
