Last month we broke the story that Cohn & Wolfe appointed Lindsay Peterson to the role of Vice President, and the public relations agency is back with more new hires.
Amanda Philp has been hired as a Senior Counsellor, bringing her broad range of public affairs skills and experience to Cohn & Wolfe. Amanda has spent a decade advising Ontario and federal politicians on issues management, policy development and strategic communications.
As the Manager of Issues in the Prime Minister’s Office, Amanda advised on developing and executing media strategy, messaging, and communications plans for high profile and contentious issues. At the same time, she also served as Manager of Priorities and Planning, advancing work on every priority file for the Government including strategic planning to establish new priorities through the Cabinet process and the legislative agenda.
Most recently, Amanda served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Issues Management for the Leader of the Opposition at Queen’s Park. In this role, she was responsible for day-to-day management of communication issues, communications roll-out and the legislative agenda. She was the last stop for preparing the Leader for communications in the legislature and with the media.
In addition to these most recent roles, Amanda served as Director of Policy and Issues for the Minister of Canadian Heritage and worked for a number of provincial MPPs.
