Sysomos Severs Ties With Marketwired, Can Marketwired Survive In The Social Media Space Solo?

March 5, 2015

social-mediaA few weeks ago Sysomos and Marketwired officially cut ties with each other, the two will now operate as separate entities ending their four and a half year partnership.  Sysomos was originally launched in 2007 and was acquired by Marketwired in 2010.  The announcement seems to have been done very quietly with a blog post on the Sysomos, but not on Marketwired’s blogg, nor have they issued a press release on their own news wire distribution system.

Obviously the social media analytics component that Sysomos brought to the table was a big part on the Marketwired remaining relevant to public relations professionals who rely heavily upon social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to engage with bloggers and other people on social media.  No word yet on Marketwired plans moving forward, but their website does still refer to their old partner with “Powered by Sysomos.”
