4 Things To Expect From Rick Murray (NATIONAL Public Relations)

November 6, 2014

Earlier this week we announced of the latest appointment from NATIONAL Public Relations as Rick Murray joined the firm as Managing Partner In Toronto & Chief Digital Strategist. This fills a year-plus void and search for someone to run their Toronto office (Catherine Cano was the last person officially in that role). You can almost hear a sigh of relief from John Crean who served as Interim Managing Partner of NATIONAL’s Toronto office and will now move back full time role as the agency’s NationalRick Murray Managing Partner.

So what can we expect from Rick Murray as he takes the helm at NATIONAL Public Relations’ Toronto office?

  1. He gets digital! As we’ve said many times here, there is a “There Is A Digital Divide Hitting The PR Industry” Rick however has immersed himself in the digital world and plays some type of role on the various social platforms.  This guy gets digital and is very active in it.
  2. He walks the talk! Rick isn’t afraid to get out there and share his opinions about the “new and next” of communication.
  3. Staff changes, let’s be honest. Anytime you have new leadership within an organization it will mean a change in style, and how things are done. Some will like it, other will say, “my time here has come to an end.”
  4. Edelman and NATIONAL Public Relations enter the fight for digital dollars – it is no secret that Edelman has been on of the pioneer public relations agency when it comes to digital, but with Rick now on board that might start to shift here in Canada

Alright NATIONALITES, well what do you call them? Anyways, brace yourselves, there is a new sheriff in town and some change is coming.
