Bye Bye Corby Distilleries, Hello Corby Spirit And Wine, New Look N’ Feel But Same Great Taste

November 7, 2013

CorbyJust in time for the holiday season, Corby Distilleries Limited announced today that, effective immediately, it will begin operating under the name Corby Spirit and Wine Limited. The new name was approved yesterday at the Company’s annual general meeting, and reflecting the change, Corby will now trade on the TSX under the symbols CSW.A and CSW.B effective at the start of trading on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

“We made this change because “Distilleries” had become too narrow a description,” said Patrick O’Driscoll, President and CEO. “Corby can trace its roots back over 100 years, and this is the third time we’ve changed our name. As with the previous changes, our new name and identity do a better job of telling the world who we are and what we do. Today, we are brand-builders of spirits and wine, with a growing premium portfolio, a strong focus on product, service and marketing, and a culture that is aspirational, not industrial.”

“Our dynamic new logo is built upon our name and history,” observed Communications Manager Amandine Robin. “Its colours reflect our partnership with Pernod Ricard, and the design conveys momentum and conviviality. It works with our new name, Corby Spirit and Wine – notice that there is no “s” after “Spirit” – to provide the foundation for a brand that captures our company-wide sense of spirit, communicates our values, and brings clarity to our core business activities.”

As part of the re-branding, a video (see below) was created to introduce the new name and logo. As a crowning touch, inspired by the new logo’s colours, a blue cocktail will specially mark the debut of Corby’s new corporate identity: the Absolut Blue Cosmopolitan.
