Crafting Out A New Message, Lake of Bays Rolls Out Its New Brand

May 10, 2013

As we inch closer to t-shirt weather, Ontario craft brewery Lake of Bays has started to roll out their new brand with the help of marketing agency We Are Tonic. Lake of Bays is relaunching a newly designed Crosswind Pale Ale Mini Keg this month with design created by We Are Tonic. The brown and gold colours of the 5 litre Mini Keg will really stand out on the shelves, especially since Lake of Bays is the only Ontario craft brewer marketing a pressurized CO2 Mini Keg.

After conducting research amongst craft beer enthusiasts, they focused in on creating sophisticated bottle designs that put the beer brand up front. The bottles feature local iconic landmarks one sees in the Baysville area near Algonquin Park, from a fire tower for Spark House to 10 point buck antlers on the 10 Point India Pale Ale. 10 Point India Pale Ale recently won a design award at the Mondial de la bière in Montreal, Quebec. And one of Lake of Bays beers, Spark House Red Ale, was featured in the Ontario Craft Brewers Discovery Pack Holiday 2012 Edition.

Founder Darren Smith added, “Our next challenge will be expanding our specialty brands portfolio and continuing to find new and exciting ways to connect with beer drinkers across the province. We look forward to a continued partnership with We Are Tonic in the years to come.”

“The craft beer market is exploding in Ontario, so standing out with a strong brand identity is very important,” says Dave Slyvestre, Creative Director at We Are Tonic. “We think the new look for Lake of Bays is a unique and authentic expression of what Baysville is all about. It’s been a great partnership with Darren and the team. And we love the beer!”
