I love seeing companies give back! In a past life I ran an association with over 8,000 members across Canada, so I have learned first hand the value of having your members (and companies) pitch in and lend a hand to a good cause such as White Ribbon Campaign’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. On September 27th, the organization held their fourth annual event, which drew approximately one thousand people to Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto. Over 500 men swapped their sneakers for stilettos and walked a full mile in high-heel shoes through Toronto’s core to raise awareness about ending violence against women. The White Ribbon Campaign is the world’s largest effort of men working to end violence against women.
For the fourth year in a row, Environics Communications provides public relations for the annual event, and they even organized a team of their communications professionals take part in the event (check out the photos above). However, one person from Environics Communications does seem to be missing, the company’s President Bruce MacLellan – maybe next year he will throw on a pair of pretty pink pumps (it is a great cause Bruce, hint hint). Perhaps next year Team PR In Canada will have to take on Bruce and Team Environics. Trust me when I say that high heels come in all shapes and sizes, and here is video proof to back it up.
