July 18, 2012

Weber Shandwick Canada has been appointed the agency of record for Rdio, the ground-breaking digital music service started by the creators of Skype, following a competitive pitch.

“Rdio is a new way to discover, play and share music, be it on the web, on tablets or mobile phones, and even offline,” said Rachel Noonan, Marketing and PR, for Rdio Canada. “Through their deep understanding of new communication platforms, deep roots in media relations and strategic thinking, Weber Shandwick will be our truly integrated partner in bringing Rdio to life through a variety of creative programs targeted at music loving Canadians from Quebec City to Kelowna.”

As Rdio’s AOR, Weber Shandwick will provide integrated communications activities centered on National brand and media partnerships, as well as influencer engagement and programs focused on the technology community.  The team at Weber Shandwick recently supported Rdio @ NXNE and partnered Rdio with Hack Days on HackMTL

Weber Shandwick Canada is the newest member of the Weber Shandwick global network to support the Rdio account.  Other offices involved in the account are based in Germany, Australia, Great Britain and the United States.
