The last few weeks have been good for Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski, she recently picked up a Reader’s Choice Award from Biz Bash, and her agency rock-it promotions has also selected by Soho House Toronto as the Canadian public relations agency of record. This year will be a big one for Soho House, they will have announced plans for the second phase of an expansion plan for the private members club Group, launching five new houses to be opened over the next two years. The first property is Soho House Toronto, a 10,000 square-foot private members’ club for those in the film, media and creative industries, opening this fall during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
For the last three years, Soho House has organized pop-ups during TIFF, and this year sees the launch of a permanent club on Bishop’s Block (192 Adelaide St. W.), just one block from the King West Theatre District and the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Soho House Toronto will inhabit a building dating back to the 1800s, which has recently been restored, brick for brick. The building was originally one of Toronto’s first hotels. The interior design firm working on the property is Toronto based The Design Agency. As part of the assignment, rock-it promotions will manage PR for Soho House Toronto and all Canadian media relations for international properties. Responsibilities include media relations and overall consulting on any PR related items, as well as on-site publicity during Soho House sponsored events in Canada and the Soho House Toronto launch during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
