More Promotions And New Appointments At Hill & Knowlton Canada

September 20, 2011

Hill & Knowlton Canada continues to shake things up with more announcements of new hires and promotions.

Kadi Kaljuste, a Senior Vice President who has been the agency’s national service leader for marketing communications since 2001, has been given a new and special responsibility to build public relations business with the agency’s WPP partners.  Kadi first joined Hill & Knowlton Canada in 2000 and established and grew the marketing communications practice at the agency. She has also served as healthcare practice director and deputy general manager of the Toronto office.  In her new role, Kaljuste will lever her deep experience in integrated marketing to develop new business opportunities and partnerships from within the WPP network of companies, with a particular focus on advertising agency partners. She will also continue to counsel existing H&K clients.

Hilda Kinross is promoted to National Marketing Communications service leader, and had joined 14 years ago in their Technology Communications Practice, where she led some of the company’s largest and longest-standing client assignments. From there, she became head of the Toronto marketing communications group in 2007, providing leadership to a team of consultants and a growing list of top-tier clients.

Steven MacKinnon becomes National Leader of the newly-established Financial Communications and Transactions Practice. Kinross and MacKinnon will join the firm’s National Senior Management team, of which Kaljuste is already a member.  Steven MacKinnon has led several, high-profile transactions since he joined Hill & Knowlton Canada in 2007 as group leader of the Ottawa communications team. Based in Ottawa and fully bilingual, MacKinnon has developed communications and public affairs strategies for takeover defenses, divestitures, bankruptcies and acquisitions, including Canada’s largest-ever foreign acquisition. Most recently, he was national director of financial transactions.
