Mia Pearson-Wedgbury Recognized as One of Canada’s Most Powerful Women

November 29, 2010

Fleishman-Hillard’s very own Mia Pearson-Wedgbury has been recognized for her leadership efforts and honored by being awarded “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 for the Corporate Executives category.  Mia of course is the President of Fleishman-Hillard Canada and its partner company High Road Communications, who had this to say about the announcement, “It is a thrill to be associated with the prestigious group of women who have won this award,” said Pearson-Wedgbury. “Being a part of the Fleishman-Hillard family has been integral to my success — the progressive corporate culture has provided me with tremendous leadership opportunities and the entrepreneurial drive to build a group of incredible companies.”

Mia constantly gives back to not only the public relations industry, but the technology industry which she has a strong passion for as she serves on the board of the Canadian Advanced Technology Association (CATA) and an active participant in the Rotman School of Business Judy Project, presenting regularly on the topic of advancing women in business.

The “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” honor is Canada’s most recognizable award for the country’s highest-achieving female leaders in the private, public andnot-for-profit sectors. Pearson-Wedgbury joins a community of 521 women across Canada who have received this recognition.

Previously this year, Fleishman-Hillard was named one of the “Top 50 Companies for Executive Women” by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) and was featured in NAFE Magazine’s spring 2010 issue. The list recognized organizations whose policies and practices encourage women’s advancement and whose numbers at the highest levels of leadership demonstrate that commitment.

Pearson-Wedgbury will be celebrated tonight at the Top 100 dinner in Toronto. The gala is the finale of a full-day celebration that offers Top 100 winners an exclusive morning of networking and professional development. The theme of this year’s summit is “the power of collaboration and connectivity.”
