On the heels of the recent Euro 2008, GolTV, Canada’s only 24-hour soccer channel, and Insight Sports announced a new partnership with Canadian women’s national team captain and Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Christine Sinclair and Toronto FC captain and Canadian men’s national team defender Jim Brennan to headline the channel’s new Future Footballers community program and marketing initiatives.

“As two of the most respected and accomplished names in Canadian soccer, Christine Sinclair and Jim Brennan will play a key role in helping us raise the national profile of GolTV,” said Christopher Doyle, Vice President of Marketing for Insight Sports. “Together with Christine and Jim, we look forward to creating some dynamic promotional materials and community programs that will help reinforce the quality and the distinctiveness of GolTV.”

Future Footballers is scheduled to air in the fall of 2008 and will provide programming for Canadian aimed at youth soccer players and offer hands-on instruction from Sinclair and Brennan. The two sports personalities will also lend their name and likeness to a number of channel promotional materials including on-air spots, instructional videos, print advertisements and station identification vignettes. Sinclair will also contribute an online blog in partnership with goltv.ca when she represents Canada this summer at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
