Edelman Canada Expands Vancouver And Toronto Offices
Edelman Canada has expanded its Karyo Edelman office in Vancouver, an acquisition they made in April 2007 with the addition of two new team members, as well as their Digital Practice in Toronto.
Shawn Mitchell has joined as Vice-President of Corporate and Public affairs for Karyo Edelman where he will assist and provide counsel to their corporate and public sector clients. Pre-Edelman, he was Vice-President of communications and human resources for WWF Canada, Shawn played a strong role in developing a range of programs including WWF’s Earth Hour, WWF’s public engagement campaign, The Good Life, and many other internal and external initiatives.
Also joining Karyo Edelman is new Director of Client Services and Media Relations, Ian Noble. Ian will work with private-sector clients in areas such as construction, technology and real estate, while also providing counsel in financial communications for publicly traded companies.
The newest addition to the Toronto office is Jonathan Sy joining as Edelman Digital’s newest Online Conversation Analyst, which is part of the agency’s Digital Practice. Ian has over 18 years of experience in media and public relations. His journalism background includes work at newspapers both in Canada and abroad as a reporter, copy editor and editor. Ian’s corporate communications experience includes leading PR teams for national clients in sectors ranging from software and technology to consulting and insurance. His work with corporate clients focuses on issues management, financial communications, speaking opportunities, and media relations. Ian has both agency and in-house experience, having worked most recently as manager, corporate communications, SAP Canada. Ian holds a degree in political science and journalism and is a graduate of the Canadian Securities Course.
