CIRA Launches One Million Domains Campaign

CIRA, Canadian Internet Registration authorityIn an effort to encourage more dot-ca domain registrations the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) launched a Tell us Your Dot-ca Story contest where entrants had an opportunity to describe how they use their dot-ca domain name. With over 4,000 entries submitted either profiles were selected, according to David Hicks, Director of Marketing and Communications for CIRA. “These stories highlight how Canadians are using dot-ca domain names to connect and communicate with each other and the world.”

The next phase of the campaign was launched today the next phase of to reaching their goal of one million dot-ca domain names registered with the new site www.onemilliondomains.ca being unveiled. CIRA expects to reach the one million milestone in early April 2008, according to a counter on www.onemilliondomains.ca as there are just over 986,000 domains registered.
