CGA Ontario Counts The Winning Student

Over the last few years the Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA) has started to embrace the power of web as they look to expand the number of members for the association. Their latest initiative is the launch of their second annual “One-Hour Accounting Contest”, that kicked off on March 19th. The contest is open to registered students at Ontario colleges and universities who get an opportunity to compete for prizes worth $50,000 (a combination of cash and tuition credits).

Last years winner was Adele McGee who is attending Sprott School of Business, Carleton University from a pool of over 1,800 was quoted as saying ““It was an amazing personal accomplishment to learn within a few days that I had won. My prize money has been a big help in financing my education and my business school benefited as well. I offer kudos to the Certified General Accountants of Ontario for offering this innovative opportunity for students to compete in this contest. It was a rewarding experience and I encourage all eligible students to register, as you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.” News of McGee’s winning was picked up by local Ottawa media, as well in her home town of Newmarket, New Bruswick did a cover story on her their hometown hero.
