Savoia Canada Event Reveals The Newest, Greenest And Biggest In Design

October 13, 2011

Maverick Public Relations went big on Wednesday, October 5th with the launch of Maximum, a new collection of large-format sustainable porcelain tile slabs from Savoia Canada Inc., the Canadian subsidiary of GranitiFiandre Group (Fiandre).  With a unique size of up to 10’x5’ (or 120”x60”), Maximum tiles are the largest, thinnest, greenest and most versatile porcelain surfaces to enter the Canadian market. To mark the occasion, Maverick successfully transformed Savoia’s King St. East showroom into a large-scale, free-flowing celebratory event without taking away from the showroom elements, enabling guests to take in latest designs, textures and environmentally friendly tiles offered by the premium tile company. In addition to media, partners and VIP Savoia clients, guests included design professionals and architects from across North America, many in town for the Greenbuild World Expo, where Savoia featured an impressive booth.

At 7:30pm, Maverick’s President Julie Rusciolelli welcomed Vice-President, Savoia Canada Frederico Gasperetti, who addressed the crowd, introducing the Maximum collection and the freshly unveiled 10’x5’ large sustainable porcelain slab on display for guests to experience- the largest tile of its sort in the world. Putting common design choices for homes and businesses into perspective, Gasperetti highlighted the planet’s steadily growing deficit in natural resources, stating that humans consumed 150 per cent of the Earth’s natural resources in 2010. Common building materials like granite and rock waste 70 per cent of their material after use.  Maximum provides an environmentally conscious alternative in building materials without taking away from the appearance of stone.

Keeping with the “green” theme, the event featured a sustainable menu from Biagio Ristorante. In addition to a savoury selection of passed appetizers, the Maverick team peppered the space with an assortment of food stations throughout—both self-serve and prepared by chefs on the spot—to highlight and draw traffic to the various sections of the expansive showroom. This ensured guests got to see and touch the diverse selection of surface options featured in the space. Overheard conversation topics included the sleek and refined design of the surfaces, the versatility in design and function and the creativity that comes with a large tile that allows design options within its service.
The event lasted well into the evening, as guests continued to mix, mingle and wow over the impressive selection of surface choices, mentally redesigning their homes and businesses in the process.

Congrats on a successful and well-executed event, Maverick!
